Ajman, 16 September:
The Department of Tourism, Culture & Media - Ajman has signed a memorandum of understanding with the UAE Tourism Media Association, a public-benefit association concerned with developing specialised tourism media in the UAE. The memorandum was signed on the sidelines of the Department’s participation in Arabian Travel Market (ATM), with the aim of formalising joint cooperation between the two parties in the field of tourism and cultural media.
The memorandum forms part of the Department’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnerships with national entities relevant to the tourism and media sectors, and its commitment to enhancing integration with national public-benefit associations and institutions. It contributes to highlighting the Emirate’s tourism and cultural assets and its heritage and history, expanding media coverage of its events and initiatives locally and internationally, and unifying the efforts of government and civil society sectors to build an integrated media and tourism ecosystem that serves the Emirate’s vision of consolidating its standing as a leading tourism and cultural destination.
On this occasion, His Excellency Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashimi, Director General of the Department of Tourism, Culture & Media - Ajman, stated: “This memorandum reflects the Department’s steadfast commitment to building quality institutional partnerships that translate our vision of enhancing Ajman’s standing as a distinguished tourism and cultural destination on the global map. Cooperation with the UAE Tourism Media Association opens promising horizons for employing specialised media as an effective tool to highlight the Emirate’s assets and heritage and history. This strengthens our joint efforts to support the national tourism sector and consolidate our media presence at regional and international levels.”
For his part, Hussein Al Manaei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Tourism Media Association, expressed his appreciation for the partnership, stating: “This memorandum represents an important step towards activating the role of specialised tourism media in highlighting the UAE’s tourism and cultural assets to the world. Through this cooperation with the Department of Tourism, Culture & Media - Ajman, we look forward to enhancing the presence of specialised tourism media and strengthening professional communication channels that serve the Association’s members and the sector as a whole, in line with our mission to support national efforts to develop the tourism sector.”
The areas of cooperation between the two parties include the preparation and implementation of joint media initiatives and content that highlight the Emirate’s tourism and cultural assets and its heritage and history, in addition to joint participation in social responsibility initiatives and programmes related to the tourism and media sectors. The memorandum also provides for organising specialised training programmes and workshops aimed at developing the capabilities of media professionals working in tourism media, as well as exchanging media and promotional content and materials between the two parties in support of their media channels and to enrich their published content.
