Al Madinah University Ajman has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Legal Affairs of the Ajman Government, with the aim of strengthening joint cooperation in the fields of legal knowledge, innovation, and the exchange of expertise between the two parties. This serves to enhance integration between academic institutions and government entities, and supports the development of the legal work environment in accordance with modern best practices.
The MoU was signed by Imran Khan, President of Al Madinah University Ajman, and His Excellency Counsellor Abdulrahman Ali Hamid Al Shamsi, Director General of the Department of Legal Affairs of the Ajman Government.
The MoU aims to establish an effective strategic partnership between the two parties, contributing to the development of institutional capacities and the achievement of integration in legal work, through the establishment of practical mechanisms for the exchange of legal knowledge — encompassing training courses, workshops, studies, research, and best practices.
It includes the organisation of joint training programmes in advanced legal fields, among them the employment of artificial intelligence in legal work, legal drafting, and procedural skills, keeping pace with the latest legislative developments.
It also encompasses work on developing a platform or mechanism for documenting and exchanging legal information and training programmes, so as to achieve optimal utilisation of the resources available to both parties.
Within the framework of strengthening academic cooperation, the two parties have also agreed to organise an international scientific conference as part of the Faculty of Law’s events during the current month of May, entitled: “Legislative Innovation and Artificial Intelligence in the United Arab Emirates”, thereby contributing to the support of scientific research and the exchange of expertise among specialists and decision-makers in the legal field.
Both parties affirmed their commitment to encouraging joint initiatives for the adoption of innovative and technological solutions in the legal field, enhancing the efficiency of services provided, alongside ensuring the continuity of cooperation through the preparation of joint periodic plans encompassing training, the exchange of expertise, and the assessment of achieved impact.
This MoU comes within the framework of both parties’ efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships and build an advanced legal ecosystem that supports sustainable development in the Emirate of Ajman.
The signing of the MoU was witnessed by Counsellor Rashid Khalfan Al Nuaimi and Counsellor Nasser Al Qahtani on behalf of the Department of Legal Affairs, and by Dr. Ahmed Al Fouly, Dr. Abdulrahim Hussein, and Professor Salma Sinaran on behalf of Al Madinah University Ajman.
