The Ajman Businesswomen Council at Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry has reviewed plans for developing services and initiatives to support the empowerment of women entrepreneurs, enhance the competitiveness of women-led enterprises, and expand partnerships with various entities during the coming period.
The Council held its second Board of Directors meeting for 2026, chaired by Dr Amna Khalifa Al Ali, President of the Council, via video conferencing technology. The meeting discussed the latest developments under the Takamul programme for women’s industrial entrepreneurship.
Dr Amna Khalifa commended the ongoing efforts of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in empowering women and promoting female entrepreneurship through support for the distinctive initiatives and programmes implemented by the Ajman Businesswomen Council — with the aim of providing an enabling environment for the growth and enhanced competitiveness of women-led enterprises, and empowering women entrepreneurs to explore new opportunities in promising economic sectors, foremost amongst which is the industrial sector.
She affirmed the importance of the Takamul programme for women’s industrial entrepreneurship, operated under the Ajman Businesswomen Council, and the integrated platform it provides for qualifying and empowering women entrepreneurs to enter the industrial sector. The programme focuses on four key pillars: training and qualification, consultancy and mentoring, industrial visits, and participation in exhibitions.
She explained that the programme was developed in alignment with the efforts and directions of government entities in supporting and empowering women in the industrial sector, facilitating their participation in national industries, and providing the training and financing environment and enabling support tools to transform women’s entrepreneurial ideas into successful industrial projects that contribute to supporting the national economy.
Dr Amna Khalifa stated: “The alignment of the Takamul initiative for women’s industrial entrepreneurship with the Year of the Family 2026 reflects the programme’s role in enhancing the economic and social stability of women and families, through contributing to skills development, capacity building, and qualifying women entrepreneurs to enter the industrial sector with confidence and competence.”
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the implementation of the Takamul programme for women’s industrial entrepreneurship, along with the industrial sectors targeted under the programme — which include the perfume and cosmetics industries, food industries, and textile and fashion industries. Board members were briefed on achievements made within the programme through the organisation of a series of meetings, workshops, and specialised events in collaboration with Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, pursuant to the memorandum of understanding signed at the Make in the Emirates 2026 platform, aimed at qualifying women entrepreneurs, enhancing their capabilities, and enabling them to establish and develop sustainable industrial projects.
The meeting also addressed the Ajman Businesswomen Council’s achievements report for the first half of 2026, alongside a discussion of the initiatives and programmes plan for the third quarter of the year. Agenda items were reviewed in a manner that reinforces the implementation of the Council’s strategic plans, elevates performance efficiency, and supports the sustainability of initiatives directed at women’s empowerment and female entrepreneurship.
Board members were briefed on the outcomes of a number of key initiatives implemented by the Council. These included a review of the results of the Izra’ wa Ihsad (“Grow and Harvest”) initiative and the support it has provided to agricultural projects belonging to beneficiary businesswomen, as well as a follow-up on the results of the Rufoof initiative, which provides five sustainable sales outlets and marketing channels for displaying and marketing the products of women entrepreneurs who are members of the Ajman Businesswomen Council — thereby enhancing the growth and sustainability prospects of their enterprises.
Attendees were also briefed on participations in local events, most notably the Make in the Emirates 2026 platform, and the results of the Tabaraktu initiative — implemented by the Council in collaboration with the Hamid bin Rashid Charitable Foundation — with the aim of providing support and gifts to brides, contributing to the enhancement of family stability and the consolidation of community solidarity values.
