The Ajman Transport Authority has announced the full completion of the digital payment project in taxis at 100%, in a step that reflects its commitment to adopting modern technological solutions and developing a smart, sustainable transport ecosystem that meets the expectations of users and supports the Emirate’s digital transformation orientations.
The Authority explained that all trip fare payments are now processed electronically through multiple payment methods, including QR codes displayed on the meter device or via the user’s mobile phone, as well as Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals that support bank cards and contactless payments — ensuring a secure, fast, and seamless payment experience.
Engineer Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport Corporation, affirmed that the completion of the full digital payment project represents a significant step forward in the development of taxi services, enhancing service efficiency and elevating the user experience.
He added that the project contributes to accelerating payment processes, providing high levels of security and reliability, reducing reliance on cash, and supporting sustainability orientations in the transport sector.
He noted that the Authority is proceeding with the development of its digital services and the application of best practices in the transport sector — strengthening Ajman’s position in delivering smart, safe, and sustainable transport services, and cementing quality of life and well-being for the community.
The Ajman Transport Authority continues to invest in modern technologies and expand the scope of smart services, keeping pace with the requirements of the future and reinforcing its leadership in the transport sector at the national level.
