University of Sharjah and Ajman Digital Department Sign MoU to Enhance Digital Transformation

The University of Sharjah and Ajman Digital Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of education, scientific research, innovation, and digital transformation, during a ceremony held at the university’s headquarters.

 

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Dr. Essam Eddin Ajami, Director of the University of Sharjah, and Her Excellency Dr. Ohood Ali Shaheel, Director General of Ajman Digital Department, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Government Relations Department in Sharjah; Dr. Salah Taher Al Hajj, Vice Director of the University of Sharjah for Community Affairs; Dr. Abbas Omairah, Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics; and a number of senior officials from both sides.

 

The University Director affirmed that signing the MoU comes within the framework of supporting the nation’s plans aimed at promoting innovation and adopting advanced technology. He noted that cooperation between the academic sector and government entities contributes to preparing national cadres capable of keeping pace with technological developments and supporting the building of a knowledge-based economy founded on innovation.

 

For her part, Her Excellency the Director General of Ajman Digital Department emphasized the importance of the partnership with the University of Sharjah, given its pivotal role in developing the scientific research system. She pointed to the Department’s commitment to expanding cooperation with academic institutions in a way that contributes to enhancing the government sector’s readiness for future digital transformations.

 

The MoU includes implementing joint technical projects, exchanging expertise in the fields of artificial intelligence, data analysis, and cybersecurity, in addition to providing practical training opportunities for students of the College of Computing and Informatics, and launching joint research initiatives aimed at supporting innovation and developing digital solutions that enhance the efficiency of government services.
