The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ajman Businesswomen Council during the ‘Make in the Emirates 2026’ platform events, held recently at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi.
The MoU aims to strengthen joint cooperation in supporting and empowering women entrepreneurs in the industrial sector in the Emirate, developing national industries, and exchanging expertise and knowledge in the fields of manufacturing and advanced technology, thereby contributing to the achievement of the targets of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Engineer Osama Amir Fadl, Assistant Undersecretary for the Industrial Accelerators Sector at the Ministry, and Her Excellency Dr. Amna Khalifa Al Ali, Member of the Ajman Chamber Board of Directors and Chairwoman of the Ajman Businesswomen Council, in the presence of Engineer Aisha Khalfan bin Badr Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairwoman of the Council’s Board of Directors, Board members, and officials from the Ajman Chamber’s Member Support Services Sector, Member Relations and Support Department, and Government Communication Department.
His Excellency Engineer Osama Amir Fadl stated: “The partnership with the Ajman Businesswomen Council embodies the national direction to broaden the base of participation in sustainable industrial growth under the ‘Make in the Emirates’ umbrella, and to strengthen the role of women as an active partner in the industrial development journey.”
He added: “The Ministry is committed to enabling entrepreneurial projects to access industrial opportunities, connecting them with actual market demand, and providing an integrated environment that supports growth and expansion. We continue to stimulate the growth and competitiveness of the industrial sector and enhance its investment attractiveness through the enablers, incentives, and opportunities provided to support the business environment, and to promote the integration of emerging industrial projects within national supply chains.”
For her part, Dr. Amna Khalifa Al Ali commended the advanced levels achieved by women’s entrepreneurship in the industrial sector, and the growing trend among businesswomen towards diverse manufacturing fields and promising industrial activities.
She explained that the cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology represents a step towards providing the enablers and supporting tools to empower members of the Ajman Businesswomen Council who own industrial projects, thereby enhancing the growth and expansion of their businesses.
She affirmed the Council’s commitment to developing women’s industrial entrepreneurship through the Takamel initiative, which aims to increase women’s investments in the industrial sector by providing support enablers including financing, training, and the development of marketing, financial, and managerial skills and expertise, alongside strengthening participation in marketing platforms and specialised exhibitions.
The Chairwoman of the Ajman Businesswomen Council commended the support packages and facilitations provided by the UAE Government, aimed at broadening the base of the industrial sector and increasing its contribution to the GDP, through the empowerment of small and medium enterprises and the enhancement of their competitiveness.
This step comes in support of the objectives of the Takamel initiative for women’s industrial entrepreneurship, affiliated with the Ajman Businesswomen Council, which targets the strengthening of women’s role in the industrial sector and the support of the growth and sustainability of women’s industrial projects.
The MoU stipulates the support and facilitation of industrial empowerment and applied training programmes for women entrepreneurs in the Emirate, through strengthening linkage with relevant entities and providing a supportive environment that contributes to building effective partnerships between women entrepreneurs and industrial establishments, thereby enhancing industrial integration opportunities and enabling the exchange of expertise and knowledge.
It also supports the exploration of opportunities to support local manufacturing and the integration of women’s industrial projects into national supply chains, contributing to raising the efficiency and competitiveness of women’s industrial projects.
The MoU addressed the importance of highlighting women industrial entrepreneurs through nominating them to participate in relevant industrial events and exhibitions, and spotlighting successful models through national platforms, thereby supporting the development of the women’s industrial sector.
