On UAE Education Day Ajman Private Education Launches Madarik Initiative to Enhance the Role of School Leadership
The Private Education Affairs Office in the Emirate of Ajman launched the “Madarik” Knowledge Initiative, aimed at empowering school leadership and building learning communities in the Emirate, coinciding with 28 February, UAE Education Day, which was established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may Allah preserve him”, in celebration of the importance of education in the UAE and its pivotal role in its development, progress and building of generations. The launch was held in the presence of private school principals, educational officials and representatives from government entities at Saraya Ajman Hotel.
The initiative targets enhancing the capacities of 48 private school principals in Ajman, through formulating a leadership model that keeps pace with educational and technological transformations, and aligns with the targets of Ajman Vision 2030, the “We the UAE 2031” vision, and the UAE Centennial 2071, contributing to preparing qualified human capital that supports the Emirate’s aspirations.
His Excellency Aisha Sultan Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Private Education Affairs Office in Ajman, affirmed that launching “Madarik” on UAE Education Day reflects the Emirate’s commitment to the national approach that has placed education at the forefront of development plans since the State’s founding, noting that the initiative represents a strategic step to enhance the role of school principals as educational leaders capable of translating national directions into tangible educational practices that support student experience and enrich parental participation.
She explained that the initiative includes periodic meetings and specialized programmes that contribute to exchanging expertise and developing institutional performance. Three annual meetings will also be held, each addressing a new topic with the participation of local and international experts, to link theory with practical application and consolidate the concept of professional learning communities within private schools.
The initiative forms a framework for enhancing integration between school leadership, government entities and the local community, consolidating the role of education as a main driver of comprehensive development, and supporting private schools’ participation in achieving long-term Emirati national ambitions.
The launch of “Madarik” on this national occasion affirms that education has remained a fundamental pillar in the UAE’s development project, and a key axis in building an advanced knowledge society rooted in its identity and values. This is the approach that the Emirate of Ajman continues to consolidate within its Vision 2030, stemming from its belief that developing educational leadership enhances the quality of educational outcomes and contributes to sustainable development.
