The Ajman Transport Authority has announced that 524,006 passengers were transported across the Emirate’s various modes of transport during the Eid Al Adha Al Mubarak holiday, marking a growth of 19 per cent compared with the corresponding period during last year’s Eid holiday.
Data released by the Authority revealed that taxis commanded the largest share of transport movement throughout the holiday period, carrying 452,632 passengers. This was attributed to their extensive coverage across the Emirate, ease of accessibility, and the availability of smart booking services through electronic applications.
Public and marine transport services recorded a combined ridership of 71,374 passengers, encompassing internal and external bus routes, the traditional Abra water taxi service, and the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain lines. These figures point to a growing uptake of collective and diversified transport options among residents and visitors alike.
The Authority noted that these results were the outcome of a proactive and flexible operational plan drawn up in advance to manage the heightened movement expected during the holiday period. The plan encompassed reinforcing fleet readiness, intensifying field supervision, and elevating service efficiency — all of which contributed to meeting the surge in demand and ensuring the seamless flow of transport across the Emirate.
Engineer Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport and Licensing Corporation, stated that the figures recorded during the Eid Al Adha holiday are a testament to the operational excellence of the Ajman Transport Authority and its ability to respond to peak-period pressures with agility and precision. He noted that field teams worked continuously throughout the holiday to guarantee a safe and comfortable journey experience for all users.
Engineer Al Jallaf further affirmed that the Authority remains committed to advancing its services through smart, integrated solutions that bolster transport reliability and enhance quality of life across the Emirate — in full alignment with the targets of Ajman Vision 2030, which envisions sustainable and safe urban mobility underpinned by a resilient transport infrastructure capable of serving all segments of society.
