Total Length of Paved Roads in Ajman Emirate Exceeds 1.3 Million Linear Metres by End of 2025

The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department announced that the total length of paved roads in the Emirate of Ajman reached 1,308,114 linear metres by the end of 2025, an achievement reflecting continuous progress in infrastructure development, in line with Ajman Vision 2030 directions for building an integrated and sustainable mobility system, and in alignment with strategic objectives to improve the quality of road network connectivity in the Emirate, consistent with the recommendations of the Urban Master Plan 2040 project.

 

His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department, affirmed that projects implemented during the past year contributed to enhancing road network connectivity and raising its operational efficiency, and improving quality of life in the Emirate, through developing main roads, expanding traffic lanes, and improving intersections, supporting the accelerated urban and economic growth witnessed by Ajman.

 

His Excellency praised the ambitious plans adopted by the Department to implement comprehensive and integrated projects covering all areas of the Emirate, confirming that infrastructure development projects were implemented applying best practices and international standards, achieving the highest levels of traffic safety and flow, alongside supporting sustainable mobility through developing pedestrian and cyclist facilities, and connecting residential neighbourhoods with vital corridors.

 

For his part, Dr Engineer Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector at the Department, indicated that the total length of new roads implemented in 2025 reached 92,000 metres, with the Emirate witnessing road construction in various areas including Al Humaidiya, Al Amerah, Al Rawdah, Al Muwaihat, Al Helio, Masfout and Al Manama areas.

 

Dr Eng. bin Omair stated that the Department worked on developing main roads in the Industrial area, completing Sheikh Salem Street Phase Two project, Sheikh Al Hajan Street Phase One project, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street project, in addition to Sheikh Zayed Street project, indicating that the total length of paved roads in Ajman Emirate city reached 1,145,191 metres, in Masfout city 120,279 metres, and new road lengths for the past year in Al Manama city recorded 42,644 metres.

 

For his part, Engineer Abdullah Mustafa Al Marzouqi, Director of Roads and Infrastructure Department at the Department, explained that the Department implemented quality projects including constructing new roads, developing existing roads, updating traffic intersections, increasing the number of lanes, constructing service roads and car parks, pavements, rainwater drainage networks, and updating street lighting according to international engineering standards, contributing to reducing journey time and improving traffic flow on a number of vital streets in the Emirate.

 

It is worth mentioning that the Department continues during the current year to implement a group of roads and infrastructure projects during 2026, including developing city centre roads, Al Hajan Street Phase Two, and constructing new roads in Al Yasmeen, Al Rawdah, Al Muwaihat, Mohammed bin Zayed, Al Rashidiya 3, Masfout and Al Manama areas, in addition to street lighting projects and constructing rainwater drainage stations. These efforts come within the framework of an integrated vision aimed at enhancing road network efficiency, supporting sustainable mobility, and creating a safe and integrated urban environment that meets present needs and keeps pace with future aspirations in the Emirate of Ajman.
