‏Ajman Chamber Explores Cooperation and Economic Partnership Opportunities with Chinese Businesswomen

Ajman Chamber and Ajman Businesswomen Council explored opportunities for cooperation, investment and building partnerships between the business communities of the United Arab Emirates and the People’s Republic of China with a Chinese delegation comprising 15 women entrepreneurs. The meeting formed part of the delegation’s UAE visit programme, organised by the General Women’s Union in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in China.

The discussions took place during a forum held at Fairmont Ajman, with the participation of the Ajman Department of Economic Development and the Ajman Department of Port & Customs. The forum highlighted the emirate’s investment opportunities and the strengths of its business environment.

The event was attended by Engineer Aisha Khalfan bin Badr Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairperson of Ajman Businesswomen Council and Council members; Abdullah Abdulmohsen Al Nuaimi, Director of the Government Communication Department at Ajman Chamber; a number of government officials; and women entrepreneurs.

Dr Noura Sultan Al Marzouqi, Member of the Board of Directors of Ajman Businesswomen Council, emphasised the importance of the meeting in providing a direct platform for exchanging expertise and opening new avenues for cooperation between women entrepreneurs in the UAE and China.

She explained that Ajman Businesswomen Council includes more than 1,200 businesswomen and women entrepreneurs and supports the growth of their businesses through training programmes and partnership-building initiatives. The Council has established more than 40 active partnerships with government and private-sector entities.

She noted that women-led businesses in Ajman have achieved 40% growth over the past three years, highlighting the Council’s direction towards expanding women’s entrepreneurship in industrial and productive sectors and enhancing opportunities for cooperation with Chinese businesswomen.

Dr Al Marzouqi commended Emirati women’s contributions across the trade, industry, technology, innovation and sustainable-project sectors, reflecting the diversity of their participation in the economic development journey.

For her part, Her Excellency Counsellor Amna Al Hammadi, Deputy Ambassador of the UAE to the People’s Republic of China and Chairperson of the UAE-China Businesswomen Council, outlined the Chinese delegation’s areas of interest and its commitment to expanding channels of communication with Ajman’s business community and exploring prospects for joint cooperation.

Fatima Yaqoob Al Awadhi, Head of the Investment Attraction Section at Ajman Chamber, delivered a presentation on the strengths of the emirate’s economy, available investment opportunities, and key sectors contributing to the gross domestic product, including industry, trade, real estate, construction and tourism.

She also highlighted a number of promising investment fields, including waste management and recycling, smart mobility, logistics and smart warehousing, and innovation, in line with the emirate’s direction towards economic diversification and supporting future sectors.

Amina Al Shihi, Director of the Competitiveness Office at the Ajman Department of Economic Development, presented the emirate’s business environment and the services and facilitation measures offered to investors. She outlined their role in simplifying the investor journey and accelerating transactions from business establishment through to expansion and growth.

Iman Al Madhani, Director of the Project Management Office at the Ajman Department of Port & Customs, reviewed the emirate’s ports and customs ecosystem, as well as the services and solutions it provides to facilitate the movement of goods, expedite procedures and improve the efficiency of commercial operations. These efforts support investors’ and companies’ access to regional and international markets.

The forum featured a dialogue and networking session between women entrepreneurs from both sides, alongside bilateral meetings to exchange expertise, explore partnership opportunities and discuss business development.

The Chinese delegation’s visit to Ajman also included a tour of Ajman Free Zone and Ajman Chamber’s Thara Centre for Entrepreneurship, where members learned about the business ecosystem, services and facilitation measures available to investors and entrepreneurs, as well as programmes and initiatives supporting the attraction of high-quality investment.
