Thirty-four researchers from Ajman University have been included in the 2026 list of the world’s top 2% scientists, issued by Stanford University in collaboration with global publishing company Elsevier. The achievement reflects their scientific contributions and the role of their research in enriching and advancing knowledge across various disciplines.
The list draws on data from the Scopus citation database and employs a range of bibliometric indicators to measure research impact, including total citations, the H-index, and the co-authorship-adjusted hm-index. It assesses research impact from two complementary perspectives: the career-long impact of scientists’ research and the impact of their research during a specific year.
Dr Karim Al Sagheer, Chancellor of Ajman University, said that the inclusion of 34 University researchers in the list reflects the institution’s growing academic and research presence, as well as the scientific expertise of its faculty and researchers, who contribute to enriching knowledge and expanding its horizons.
He added: “As a non-profit educational institution, Ajman University believes that investing in scientific research is an investment in the future and the advancement of societies. From this perspective, we are committed to enabling our researchers to produce knowledge with an impact that extends beyond academic circles, contribute to addressing global challenges, strengthen international partnerships, and develop innovative and sustainable solutions.”
He continued: “We take pride in this achievement, which reflects the competence and dedication of our researchers and strengthens our ambition to establish Ajman University as a centre of academic and research excellence, contributing to the enrichment of knowledge regionally and globally.”
