The Ajman Government Human Resources Department has issued a circular to all government entities in the Emirate regarding flexible arrival and departure times for employee-parents, coinciding with the start of the 2026–2027 academic year. The measure will facilitate parents’ ability to accompany their children during the first days of school and takes into account social and family considerations.
Under the circular, employees who are parents of children enrolled in nurseries or kindergartens will be permitted to arrive late or leave early throughout the first school week, in order to accompany their children between the nursery or kindergarten and home. The total permitted time may not exceed three hours per day.
The circular also enables Ajman Government employees who are parents of school students in primary education and above to receive permission to arrive late or leave early on the first school day, in order to accompany their children between school and home, for a maximum of three hours.
The Department emphasised the need to take into account the different school start times based on the curriculum approved by the competent authorities at each school, nursery or kindergarten, ensuring that the flexibility is applied according to students’ actual timetables.
The Human Resources Department invited employees benefiting from this flexibility to record their permissions through the Mawared Cloud app or the Mawared Ajman app. Human resources units within government entities will be responsible for monitoring the implementation of the provisions of the circular and ensuring their optimal application.
The circular forms part of the Ajman Government’s commitment to providing a flexible and supportive work environment for employees and enhancing work–life balance. It contributes to supporting family stability, raising levels of job satisfaction, and consolidating an institutional culture that takes account of people’s needs within the government work environment.
