‏Department of Tourism, Culture & Media - Ajman Achieves Full Conformance in Internal Audit Quality Assessment by the UAE Internal Auditors Association

Abu Dhabi, 8 October:

The Department of Tourism, Culture & Media - Ajman has achieved full conformance in the quality assessment of its internal audit activities, conducted by the UAE Internal Auditors Association. The achievement reflects the Department’s commitment to applying international professional standards and embedding institutional governance and control practices.

The assessment result was announced during the Chief Audit Executives Conference, held in Abu Dhabi from 6 to 8 October with the participation of a distinguished group of internal audit leaders, experts and specialists.

The Department was honoured during the conference in the presence of His Excellency Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashimi, Director General of the Department of Tourism, Culture & Media - Ajman, who also participated in the event, reaffirming the Department’s active presence at specialised professional forums and its commitment to keeping pace with international best practices in governance and internal auditing.

The achievement demonstrates the maturity of the Department’s oversight framework and its ability to manage risks efficiently and proactively, while employing internal auditing as a tool to enhance institutional efficiency and support decision-making. This is achieved through strengthened oversight of procedures, adherence to professional standards and the identification of improvement opportunities.

It also affirms the Department’s commitment to developing its oversight practices in a manner that supports governance, enhances performance quality and safeguards public resources, in line with Ajman Government’s direction towards building an agile, trusted and sustainable government work ecosystem.

His Excellency Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashimi, Director General of the Department, said: “Achieving full conformance represents the culmination of a clear institutional vision that places governance, transparency and accountability at the heart of government work. Effective internal auditing is a safeguard for sustainable performance and a cornerstone upon which the confidence of our partners and customers is built.

“It is also the outcome of the work team’s efforts and commitment to applying professional standards and developing internal audit and oversight procedures.”

He added: “We value the assessment conducted by the UAE Internal Auditors Association and reaffirm our commitment to continuously developing our oversight ecosystem in line with international best practices. We will continue to embed institutional practices that support governance, performance efficiency and continuous improvement, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of the Emirate of Ajman.”
