Ajman Transport: 100% of School Buses Equipped with Automatic Fire-Suppression Systems

Ajman Transport has confirmed that 100% of school buses operating in the emirate are equipped with automatic fire-suppression systems for engine-compartment fires, as part of its efforts to strengthen the safety system in the school transport sector and ensure the efficiency of fire protection and prevention systems, providing students with a safe transport environment during their daily journeys to and from schools.

Engineer Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport and Licensing Corporation at Ajman Transport, stated that achieving 100% compliance reflects the Authority’s commitment to applying the highest safety standards across the school transport system.

He noted that student safety is among the Authority’s top priorities, through ensuring the readiness of school buses and their compliance with approved safety requirements.

Al Jallaf explained that automatic fire-suppression systems in engine compartments are an important preventive safety measure in school buses, as they contribute to early response in the event of fires and reduce the risk of their spread, enhancing protection for students, drivers and supervisors, while improving the operational safety of buses.

He added that the Authority places great importance on strengthening prevention and safety procedures in school transport by ensuring the efficiency of systems and equipment related to bus safety. This supports the continued provision of safe and reliable school transport services and enhances parents’ confidence in the school transport system in the emirate.
