The Ajman Police General Command has launched the Sayfuna Amn wa Salama (“Our Summer, Safe and Sound”) initiative with the aim of raising community awareness and promoting preventive behaviours during the summer season — contributing to the protection of lives and property and ensuring that community members enjoy safe and pleasant leisure time.
Lieutenant Colonel Noura Sultan Al Shamsi, Head of the Media and Public Relations Section at Ajman Police, affirmed that the initiative reflects Ajman Police’s commitment to strengthening a culture of prevention and disseminating awareness messages that keep pace with the demands of the summer season — particularly given the increased uptake of travel, swimming, and outdoor activities. She noted that the initiative targets various segments of the community through the dissemination of digital awareness content and preventive guidelines.
She explained that the initiative addresses a range of general safety tips and guidelines, encompassing protection from heat stress and dehydration, alongside the promotion of road safety through ensuring vehicles are roadworthy and subject to regular maintenance. The initiative also raises families’ awareness of safety procedures at swimming pools and beaches — including the continuous supervision of children and ensuring they are never left unattended, ensuring that swimming pools are securely closed to prevent unsupervised access by children, providing rescue equipment and first aid supplies at swimming areas, and remaining alert to water currents whilst swimming at beaches.
She added that the initiative includes warnings against dangerous behaviours associated with the summer season, such as leaving children inside vehicles, leaving flammable materials and electronic devices in cars under direct sunlight, and emphasises the importance of keeping electrical appliances away from swimming pools to avoid the risk of electric shock.
Lieutenant Colonel Noura Al Shamsi noted that the initiative reflects Ajman Police’s commitment to its awareness-raising and community role, affirming that prevention is the fundamental pillar of individual safety. She called upon the public to adhere to preventive guidelines and to benefit from the awareness messages shared by Ajman Police across its various platforms.
