The Emirates Balanced Development Council has announced the opening of registration for the UAE Villages Summer 2026 programme, aimed at making productive use of children’s and young people’s leisure time during the summer holiday through a diverse package of educational, sporting, cultural, and recreational activities. The programme contributes to strengthening community cohesion, health, and quality of life, whilst developing the personal and cognitive skills of participants.
The programme will be held from 6 to 23 July 2026, Monday to Thursday each week, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It targets boys and girls in two age groups: 10 to 13 years, and 14 to 17 years.
The programme encompasses a number of key themes, most notably sports, heritage and national identity, future skills, artificial intelligence, and safety and security — all within a safe, educational, and interactive environment that contributes to honing participants’ capabilities and reinforcing the values of participation and community engagement.
The programme will be hosted across five areas in various emirates of the country: Qidfa in the Emirate of Fujairah, Masfout in the Emirate of Ajman, Al Rams in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, and Al Shuwaib and Al Sila’ in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi — reflecting the broad reach of the initiative and its accessibility to multiple local communities.
The three-week programme includes a series of sporting activities and specialised interactive workshops. During the first week, participants will take part in activities encompassing football, swimming, jiu-jitsu, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and indoor rowing, alongside workshops in cybersecurity, general safety, first aid, and emergency response. The first week also includes the Young Captain programme, environmental awareness, fishing and farming methods, Emirati identity, Heritage Guardians, the Our Children Are a Trust initiative, and Reading Ambassadors.
The second week continues with sporting activities and workshops on health, safety, first aid, firefighting, and cybersecurity, alongside environmental awareness activities, fishing methods, and artistic activities, as well as financial literacy workshops, an innovation hackathon, exploration of artificial intelligence applications, and programmes on Emirati values and traditional craftsmanship (Al Sana’).
The third week maintains the sporting activities, alongside workshops on risk management and community cohesion through community-serving innovations, the Our Children Are a Trust programme, the Young Volunteer initiative, physical health, robotics building, success skills, and Future Founders, in addition to national identity activities, Heritage Guardians, and Reading Ambassadors.
The initiative comes within the framework of the Emirates Balanced Development Council’s efforts to enhance quality of life in the country’s villages and regions, and to provide quality programmes that contribute to developing the skills of rising generations and entrenching the values of national identity and social responsibility — in support of the targets of sustainable and balanced development across the various regions of the UAE.
The Council noted that the registration deadline for the programme is 15 June 2026, and invited those wishing to participate to register via the programme’s dedicated website.
