Honouring the Architects of Success at the Sixth Edition of the Ajman Government Sports Tournament In recognition of their efforts in delivering 15 sports championships throughout the month of Ramadan
The Higher Organizing Committee of the Ajman Government Sports Tournament honoured the directors and members of the organizing committees who contributed to the success of the tournament’s sixth edition, during a special ceremony held on the evening of Monday, 16 March 2026 at Ajman Sarai Hotel, in recognition of the tremendous efforts exerted by committee members in organizing and managing the tournament’s various championships.
This recognition comes in celebration of the prominent role played by the organizational work teams in planning, preparing and supervising the Ajman Government Sports Tournament championships, which stand as one of the most prominent community sporting events in the Emirate, encompassing more than 15 diverse sports championships and events, and witnessing broad participation from government entities and various institutions.
More than 250 supervisors, organizers and volunteers contributed to organizing the tournament’s championships and events, working as one team to ensure the success of the event. The tournament witnessed broad community participation, with the number of beneficiaries and participants in its activities exceeding 10,000, over the course of 23 days of competitions and sports activities during the blessed month of Ramadan.
The honouring ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ahmed Al Raeesi, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Ajman Government Sports Tournament, alongside Abdulaziz Abdullah, who honoured the members of the sports championships organizing committees, namely: Salem Khalfan, Supervisor of the Football Committee; Sultan Dawood, Supervisor of the Cycling Race Committee; Abdullah Al Qara’a, Supervisor of the Camel Racing Committee; Mohammed Al Balushi, Supervisor of the Challenge Games Committee; Jamal Al Janahi, Supervisor of the Running Race Committee; Fares Al Mandous, Supervisor of the Padel Tennis Committee; Mariam Al Shamsi, Supervisor of the Women’s Fitness Committee; Mohammed Khalfan, Supervisor of the Traditional Games Committee; Muath Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Technical Committee for Traditional Games; Ahmed Al Ali, Supervisor of the CrossFit Championship; and Abdullah Rashed Al Qara’a, Supervisor of the Camel Racing Race.
The recognition also included members of the technical and administrative committees, with honours presented to Ahmed Hassan, Supervisor of the Financial and Logistics Committee; Ahmed Fadel, Supervisor of the Media Committee; Hussein Abbas, Supervisor of the Coordination and Follow-up Committee; Noura Abdullah, Supervisor of the Statistics and Secretariat Committee; Imran Al, Supervisor of the Protocol Committee; and Abdullah Bakr, Supervisor of the Ramadan Village Committee, alongside all members of the work teams who contributed to the tournament’s success.
Following the conclusion of the ceremony, His Excellency Ahmed Al Raeesi affirmed that the success achieved by the tournament was the result of collective work and integration between the various organizing committees, noting that the efforts exerted by the work teams played the greatest role in delivering a distinguished edition of the tournament in terms of organization, participation and community engagement.
He added that the sixth edition contributed to generating numerous developmental ideas and organizational proposals that will support early preparation for the launch of the seventh edition of the Ajman Government Sports Tournament in 2027, enhancing the level of organization and keeping pace with the development of sporting events in the Emirate.
For his part, Abdulaziz Abdullah affirmed that honouring the members of the organizing committees and volunteers comes in recognition of the tremendous efforts they exerted throughout the period of organizing the championships, noting that the spirit of cooperation and teamwork were among the most prominent factors contributing to the tournament’s success.
He added: “The organizing committee was committed to delivering a distinguished sports experience that combines athletic competition with a community dimension, which was reflected in the volume of participation and the great engagement with the various championships. In future editions, we aspire to further develop the tournament and add new events that contribute to enhancing the culture of sport and physical activity among government entity employees and community members in the Emirate of Ajman.”
