The Emirate of Ajman has announced the launch of the General Census of Population, Housing and Establishments Project for the Emirate of Ajman 2027 under the slogan “Today’s Census.. Tomorrow’s Development”, in a strategic step reflecting the Emirate’s commitment to enhancing the statistical data system and consolidating knowledge-based planning to support comprehensive and sustainable development pathways.

Ajman Statistics Centre affirmed that the census represents a pivotal national project forming an accurate and integrated reference database on population, housing and demographic characteristics, supporting the formulation of public policies, raising the efficiency of medium and long-term planning, and contributing to directing resources according to clear development priorities based on realistic and updated data.

Dr Yasmine Joudi, Executive Director of the General Population Census for the Emirate of Ajman, reviewed during the press conference the implementation phases of the project, which begin with the preparation and setup phase and building technical and technological frameworks, followed by the enumeration and data collection phase in the field and electronically, then the auditing, processing and statistical analysis phases, leading to the approval of results and publication of official indicators that will form a fundamental reference for relevant entities in the Emirate.

She continued that the census will be implemented according to the latest internationally approved statistical standards and methodologies, with the adoption of an integrated digital system employing all modern and smart technologies and direct electronic linkage systems with government entities, in addition to utilizing advanced analysis tools and artificial intelligence in data collection, processing, auditing and quality control operations, enhancing result accuracy, reducing error rates, and raising the speed and reliability of issuing official indicators.

She affirmed that census outputs will directly contribute to supporting housing and urban development plans, developing educational and health services, and enhancing the efficiency of transport networks and infrastructure, in line with the population growth and urban expansion witnessed by the Emirate. The detailed data will also provide a scientific basis for estimating future service needs, improving their geographical distribution, and ensuring optimal resource utilization.

The conference highlighted the importance of media as a strategic partner in the project’s success, through spreading community awareness of the importance of participating in the census, enhancing trust in field teams, and consolidating a culture of cooperation as the census is a shared national responsibility.

The conference was attended by representatives of a number of government entities, where it was emphasized that the project is based on the principle of institutional integration and data exchange between Ajman Statistics Centre and relevant entities, enhancing government work efficiency and unifying efforts to achieve development goals. The role of the Municipality and Planning Department comes in supporting the census by providing spatial data and updating urban maps, while Ajman Police General Command contributes to supporting field teams and securing the conduct of statistical operations. The Transport Authority in Ajman will also benefit from census results in developing transport networks and improving traffic planning based on population densities and movement patterns, while the Executive Council undertakes to follow up on aligning the project with strategic plans and ensuring integration of government policies. The “Federal Water and Electricity” company contributes to utilizing census data to estimate future loads and plan service network expansion in accordance with expected population distribution.

The strategic and timeline plan for the project was also reviewed, which is based on clear governance, effective institutional partnerships, and employing digital transformation in all implementation phases, alongside a comprehensive communication and awareness plan targeting various segments of society to ensure the highest response and participation rates.

The launch of the General Population Census for the Emirate of Ajman 2027 comes in alignment with the targets of Ajman Vision 2030, which places accurate data at the core of the planning and decision-making process, contributing to achieving sustainable development, enhancing quality of life, and consolidating the Emirate’s position as a leading model in data-driven management and innovation.
