His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, honoured the winning government entities and departments in the first edition of the “Next Generation Services” Challenge programme, with total cash prizes of AED 3 million, following their success in eliminating unnecessary government procedures, reducing the time periods for completing procedures by no less than 50%, alongside zeroing duplicate and unnecessary requirements and conditions, in a step that reflects a qualitative transformation in the government work system in the Emirate.

His Highness the Crown Prince of Ajman surprised the work teams of the winning entities by announcing the results during a tour of the government entities building at the Emiri Court, expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by the teams and his commitment to honouring achievement among work teams and enhancing the spirit of one team.

His Highness congratulated the winning entities on their achievement, praising their efforts to accelerate services provided and reduce procedures to facilitate matters for customers.

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi affirmed that Ajman Government continues to consolidate a more efficient and flexible government model, emphasizing that simplifying procedures, accelerating service delivery, and raising the quality of customer experience are priorities in Ajman Government.

His Highness continued: “Service development is no longer an option, but rather a continuous commitment to society, placing people at the heart of government work, and relying on innovation and process re-engineering to achieve tangible results that customers feel in their daily lives.”

His Highness the Crown Prince of Ajman added that the “Next Generation Services” programme represents a strategic step towards a more agile government, capable of rapid response to changes and enhancing the Emirate’s competitiveness, affirming that government work teams have demonstrated a high ability to transform challenges into real development opportunities that positively impact quality of life.

The event was held in the presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Ammar Al Nuaimi, President of Ajman Digital Department, Her Excellency Dr Ohoud Ali Shaheel, Director General of the Department, alongside directors of government entities and senior officials.

During the tour, the Municipality and Planning Department was announced as winner of the “Zero Bureaucracy” category award for the “Automatic Lease Contract Attestation” service, which embodies the government’s directions towards reducing procedures and enhancing efficiency and speed in service delivery.

The Department of Economic Development won the Best Innovation in Zero Bureaucracy category award for the “Business Go Commercial License Issuance Service”, where the innovation lies in redesigning the service through integrated linkage with federal and local entities.

The Human Resources Department received the “Comprehensive Experience” category award for the “Paternity Leave” service, and in the “Best Integrated Government Package” category, the Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation won for the “Own in Ajman Package” service, while the Free Zones Authority received the Economic Impact category award for the “New Economic License Registration Package”.

Ajman Police General Command won the “Social Impact” category award for the Smart Sponsorship service, while the “Cooperative Customer” category award was won by both Ghaya Obaid Al Matrooshi, an employee at the Department of Tourism Development nominated by the Department of Finance for presenting a distinguished idea serving the government, and Nasser Al Obaidli from Al Jasmi Real Estate Company, nominated by the Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation for the Ownership Fees Calculator idea.

For his part, Sheikh Rashid bin Ammar Al Nuaimi, President of Ajman Digital Department, affirmed that the results achieved in the “Next Generation Services” challenge reflect the distinguished level of institutional development of government entities and their ability to redesign their services based on customer needs.

He stated that “the programme did not focus only on improving procedures, but on creating a change in the way services are designed, making them simpler, clearer and faster, supported by smart digital solutions.”

Sheikh Rashid bin Ammar Al Nuaimi added that Ajman Digital Department, in cooperation with the Prime Minister’s Office, was committed to providing supportive frameworks and methodologies for participating entities, ensuring the achievement of programme targets, noting that the challenge formed a practical platform for exchanging expertise between entities and enhancing integration in providing government services.

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi had launched the “Next Generation Services” challenge in April last year, with the aim of creating a qualitative shift in government work culture, by focusing on measuring the actual impact of services, designing proactive services, re-engineering processes, and adopting modern technologies, contributing to facilitating individuals’ lives, enhancing the business environment, and raising the Emirate’s competitiveness.

The programme targets the elimination of more than 1,000 unnecessary government procedures, reducing time periods for procedures by no less than 50%, and zeroing duplicate requirements and conditions, within a more comprehensive vision aligned with the targets of “We the UAE 2031” vision, and enhancing community quality of life.
