His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention and Chairman of the Federal Authority for Ambulance Services and Civil Defence, attended the “Assistive Artificial Intelligence Initiatives for Civil Defence” workshop, held today at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Civil Defence in Ajman. The workshop was held as part of the Authority’s efforts to harness advanced technologies and artificial intelligence in developing and enhancing the future readiness of the ambulance and civil defence system.
His Excellency, accompanied by Major General Dr Jassim Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Commander-General of Civil Defence, and Brigadier Raed Obaid Al Zaabi, Director General of Ajman Civil Defence, as well as directors of civil defence authorities and regional directorates across the country, was briefed on the workshop’s outcomes and the future initiatives and projects targeting the deployment of assistive artificial intelligence technologies to develop the ambulance and civil defence system, enhance operational efficiency, and support rapid response to incidents and emergencies — in alignment with the UAE’s directions towards building an intelligent and sustainable government services ecosystem.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh affirmed that the Federal Authority for Ambulance Services and Civil Defence is pressing ahead with the adoption of the latest technologies and smart solutions to enhance the readiness of the national system. He noted that the deployment of assistive artificial intelligence represents an advanced step towards developing proactive services grounded in innovation and data analysis.
He stated that Civil Defence is deploying assistive artificial intelligence technologies as part of its vision to strengthen global leadership and cement the UAE’s standing as a world model in anticipating the future and adopting innovative solutions that contribute to the protection of lives and property and the enhancement of quality of life.
He further affirmed that assistive artificial intelligence has become a fundamental pillar in supporting prevention and safety efforts and enhancing the readiness of the emergency system — through leveraging its capabilities in analysing operational data, predicting potential risks, and supporting decision-making processes across a range of circumstances.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh commended the level of readiness and advancement witnessed within the civil defence system, and its commitment to continuing its journey of excellence and innovation and adopting best practices and modern technologies.
For his part, Commander-General of Civil Defence Major General Dr Jassim Mohammed Al Marzouqi affirmed during the workshop that assistive artificial intelligence is no longer merely a future technology — it has become an active partner in the development of modern work environments, given the advanced capabilities it offers in information analysis and knowledge management.
He noted that the optimal use of these technologies contributes to enhancing productivity, raising the quality of outputs, and enabling employees to carry out their duties with greater efficiency. He stressed the importance of raising awareness of the practical applications of artificial intelligence and developing the skills required to benefit from them — keeping pace with the demands of digital transformation and the future of work.
The workshop featured presentations by the directors of civil defence authorities and directors general across the country, showcasing a number of innovative initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening an intelligent and sustainable ambulance and civil defence system through the deployment of the latest technologies and smart systems. The workshop was attended by leaders and officials from the authorities and directorates, alongside specialists and experts in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
