A delegation from the International Charity Organization (ICO), led by His Excellency Dr. Khalid Abdulwahab Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the Organization, has commenced a field visit to the Syrian Arab Republic. The mission aims to inspect previously completed initiatives and launch new charitable and sustainable development projects across several of the country’s most vulnerable governorates and regions.
Dr. Al Khaja stated that the visit aligns with the ICO's ongoing commitment to supporting underprivileged and affected families, marking a strategic transition from emergency relief to long-term sustainable development. The current portfolio of projects spans multiple vital sectors, most notably rehabilitating water wells to secure clean drinking water, restoring schools and mosques, and strengthening the healthcare sector. These initiatives run alongside regular humanitarian programs, including orphan sponsorship and the distribution of food baskets to eligible beneficiaries.
"We extend our deepest gratitude to our wise leadership, which consistently supports the public benefit sector, and to the donors across the UAE whose generosity continues to uplift those affected by crises," Al Khaja added. He reaffirmed the ICO’s steadfast commitment to extending a helping hand to the Syrian people, embodying the UAE’s deeply rooted values of giving and its leadership’s directives to support conflict-affected communities, particularly brotherly nations.
Al Khaja concluded by emphasizing that the field visit prioritizes developmental and service-oriented projects that directly impact the daily essential needs of the population, such as water, healthcare, and education. He noted that on-the-ground inspections ensure that philanthropic funds are precisely channeled to maximize their impact on the communities served.
