Ajman’s Manama Tops UAE Rainfall Records at 93.3mm
The Manama area in Ajman topped the list of highest recorded rainfall quantities in the UAE on Monday, registering 93.3mm, followed by Ghayathi in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region at 91mm, and then the Wathba area in Abu Dhabi at 88.2mm.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology, the rainfall that swept across various parts of the country on Monday recorded exceptional quantities by the end of the day, as the UAE was affected by an active weather system characterised by the build-up of cumulonimbus clouds and rainfall of varying intensity across a number of regions.
Mohammed Bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi recorded rainfall of 78.7mm, while the Ruwais area in Al Dhafra region ranked fifth at 75.7mm, among the areas most affected by the weather system.
The National Centre of Meteorology noted that these quantities reflect the intensity of the weather system experienced across the country, which was distinguished by marked activity in cumulonimbus clouds accompanied by moderate to heavy rainfall at intermittent intervals.
The Centre confirmed that it is continuing to monitor weather developments and update data on an ongoing basis, calling on the public to follow official bulletins and adhere to the safety guidelines issued by the relevant authorities
