The Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media is participating in the Beijing International Book Fair 2026 as part of the “UAE House” organised by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to the People’s Republic of China in partnership with the Ministry of Culture — within the framework of the UAE’s participation as Guest of Honour at the Fair. This reflects the growing standing of Emirati culture on the international stage and embodies the UAE’s vision of employing culture as a bridge for civilisational dialogue and the strengthening of knowledge partnerships with peoples around the world.
The Department’s participation forms part of the unified Emirati presence at one of the world’s most prominent and largest book fairs, reaffirming its pivotal role in highlighting the cultural heritage of the Emirate of Ajman and enhancing its presence at international forums. The Department is showcasing a selection of its publications that document the Emirate’s history and heritage, contributing to the preservation of national memory and the consolidation of Emirati cultural identity.
The publications on display include the Ajman Encyclopaedia — a comprehensive knowledge reference addressing the historical, social, and economic dimensions of the Emirate, alongside extensive information on its most notable figures, archaeological sites, and heritage landmarks. Also featured is Baba Hamid, a book documenting the biography of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, from his upbringing to his assumption of rule — part of a series aimed at introducing new generations to the history of the UAE and its leaders.
Further exhibits include children’s books that highlight the cultural and heritage assets of the Emirate, such as A Gift from Al Manamah and A Gift from Masfout, which present, in an engaging narrative style, a journey of discovery through the most prominent tourism and heritage landmarks of the Al Manamah and Masfout areas — contributing to strengthening children’s connection to their national heritage and deepening their pride in it. This collection serves as a window into the cultural and historical legacy of the Emirate of Ajman, highlighting the civilisational and human values that distinguish Emirati society, and offering visitors and interested parties from various nationalities an opportunity to engage with cultural and intellectual experiences that reflect the authenticity and diversity of the Emirati heritage.
The UAE’s participation in the Beijing International Book Fair 2026 carries particular significance this year, as the country has been selected as Guest of Honour. The “UAE House” constitutes a unified national platform bringing together Emirati government entities and cultural and knowledge institutions under one roof, reflecting the national efforts to showcase the UAE’s cultural and creative dynamism on the world stage.
His Excellency Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashimi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, affirmed that the UAE’s participation in the Beijing International Book Fair 2026 as Guest of Honour represents a prominent cultural milestone that reflects the country’s leading position as a global cultural partner — one that plays an active role in building bridges of dialogue between civilisations on the basis of openness and constructive knowledge exchange.
He added that the Department’s presence within the “UAE House” reflects the Emirate of Ajman’s belief in the role of culture as an active force in promoting civilisational communication and projecting national identity within a diverse global context. He noted that the publications and knowledge content the Department presents contribute to conveying the Emirati experience to the world and opening broader horizons for cultural dialogue and knowledge exchange — strengthening the UAE’s standing as a vibrant centre for creativity and human cultural interaction.
This participation embodies the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media’s commitment to contributing to the projection of the Emirati cultural scene at the international level, and to enhancing the presence of local intellectual and knowledge output on the world’s most prominent platforms — building sustainable cultural partnerships and cementing Ajman’s standing as a leading cultural destination that supports the UAE’s efforts to promote the values of knowledge, tolerance, and human dialogue between civilisations.
