Launch of Elite Challenge Running Championship in Ajman with Broad Community Participation
The “Elite Challenge” running championship was held in the Emirate of Ajman, coinciding with the celebration of 15 years since the establishment of the Presidential Guard Command, featuring various distances and witnessing broad community participation from citizens and residents of different age groups.
His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Citizens’ Affairs Office in the Emirate of Ajman, crowned the winners in various championship categories, in the presence of Brigadier General Yaqoub Youssef bin Omair Al Ali, Deputy Commander of the Presidential Guard, praising the sporting spirit and positive competition that prevailed throughout the event.
In the Presidential Guard Command’s commitment to ensuring the success of the events, it invited all Command personnel and various community segments to participate in this event, with race categories including: 10 kilometres – open, 5 kilometres – open and over 50 years, 3 kilometres – secondary school students and national service recruits, and 1 kilometre – under 15 years.
The championship events were launched on 1 February in Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain on 7 February, Dubai on 13 February, Sharjah on 15 February, then Ajman on 20 February, with the final event scheduled to be held in Fujairah on 28 February.
