A delegation from the Strategic Knowledge Programme of the Ajman Government visited Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence to learn about its experiences in building artificial intelligence ecosystems, developing national capabilities, supporting technology entrepreneurship, and exploring best practices that enable government entities to harness advanced technologies in the development of government work.
The visit comes within the framework of the Ajman Government’s orientations to enhance the readiness of government entities in the fields of artificial intelligence and future technologies, and in conjunction with the launch by His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, of the Ajman AI Programme — aimed at accelerating smart government transformation and raising the capacity of government entities to benefit from artificial intelligence applications across various sectors.
During the visit, the delegation received an introductory presentation on Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, its research and applied initiatives, as well as a presentation delivered by the University’s Incubation and Entrepreneurship Centre on its specialised programmes in supporting innovation, building future skills, and transforming technical ideas into scalable ventures.
The visit also featured extensive discussions with the University’s Foundation Models Institute and Academy on the mechanisms for building the supporting pillars of artificial intelligence ecosystems within government entities, and the most prominent requirements related to the knowledge, skills, and organisational infrastructure necessary for the success of these transformations — particularly in light of the new programmes and initiatives being developed by the Ajman Government in this field.
Participants raised a number of questions related to capacity building, the sustainability of innovation, and enhancing the readiness of government talent to engage with rapidly accelerating technological transformations, in a manner that contributes to developing more flexible, efficient, and proactive working models.
The Strategic Knowledge Programme affirmed that the visit provided an important knowledge space to explore advanced national experiences in the field of artificial intelligence and to benefit from specialised expertise in this vital sector, in support of the Ajman Government’s orientations towards building a government better prepared for the future.
The visit forms part of a series of specialised visits and sessions conducted by the Strategic Knowledge Programme, with the aim of broadening the horizons of government leaders and enhancing their understanding of global transformations and emerging technologies that have a direct bearing on development and decision-making.
