Ajman Arbitration Centre, affiliated with Ajman Chamber, reviewed the requirements and criteria governing the registration of arbitrators and experts, enhancing knowledge of arbitration practices and supporting the development of specialised legal competencies.
This took place during a legal seminar entitled “The 2026 Regulations for the Registration of Arbitrators and Experts at Ajman Arbitration Centre”, organised in cooperation with the Higher Institute for Legal Training and the Emirates Association for Lawyers and Legal Professionals.
The seminar was attended virtually by Hindi Obaid Al Matrooshi, Secretary General of Ajman Arbitration Centre, alongside a distinguished group of legal and arbitration specialists and experts in relevant professional disciplines.
At the outset of the seminar, Al Matrooshi welcomed the participants and emphasised the importance of the event in light of the growing role of arbitration as an effective means of resolving commercial disputes quickly and flexibly. He noted that this requires arbitrators and experts with competence, experience and specialisation, in accordance with clear and objective criteria that keep pace with developments in the economic sector and the needs of the business community.
He explained that registration as arbitrators with Ajman Arbitration Centre is open to professionals with expertise in commercial, financial, engineering, accounting and legal fields, as well as other technical and professional specialisations.
He said: “Updating the Regulations and clarifying their implementation procedures represent an important step in developing Ajman’s arbitration ecosystem and establishing a specialised pool of qualified and experienced arbitrators and experts. This strengthens confidence in dispute-resolution procedures, supports a more stable and transparent business environment, and enhances the emirate’s appeal for investment and business.”
The seminar addressed the Regulations for the Registration of Arbitrators and Experts, including the frameworks and procedures governing the registration process, the criteria for classifying and selecting arbitrators and experts, and registration renewal mechanisms.
During the seminar, participants exchanged knowledge and expertise and raised enquiries concerning registration, classification and renewal procedures. This contributed to clarifying the provisions of the Regulations and their implementation procedures, while enhancing the readiness of arbitrators and experts to meet their requirements.
Participants affirmed the importance of the series of legal seminars in promoting legal and arbitration knowledge and keeping pace with legislative and professional developments.
