The International Charity Organization is preparing to inaugurate and launch 150 charitable and humanitarian projects and initiatives across three African countries, as part of a visit by an Organization delegation led by His Excellency Dr Khalid Abdulwahab Al Khaja, Secretary General of the Organization, to Mauritania, Benin and Senegal.
The launch of these charitable and humanitarian projects and initiatives forms part of the Organization’s ongoing efforts to expand the reach of its projects and strengthen its humanitarian impact in communities most in need.
The visit will include the inauguration of completed projects, including mosques and water wells, as well as the implementation of diverse initiatives such as food distribution and the provision of assistance to underprivileged families and other eligible beneficiaries, helping meet their essential needs and improve their living conditions.
The tour will also include the launch of a package of new projects, ranging from the construction, maintenance and furnishing of mosques; the drilling and maintenance of wells; the establishment of Holy Quran memorisation centres; and support for family livelihood projects, to the implementation of various food distribution programmes and other educational, development and charitable projects aimed at providing essential services, strengthening opportunities for stability and promoting self-reliance.
His Excellency Dr Khalid Abdulwahab Al Khaja, Secretary General of the International Charity Organization, affirmed that these field visits stem from the Organization’s commitment to directly follow up on its projects and assess the circumstances and actual needs of beneficiary communities, ensuring that resources are directed towards projects of the highest priority.
He said: “The inauguration and launch of 150 charitable projects and initiatives during this tour embody the International Charity Organization’s commitment to continuing its mission and translating the generosity of donors into tangible projects that have a tangible impact on the lives of beneficiaries—whether through providing clean water, constructing mosques, supporting education or economically empowering families.”
He added: “We believe that charitable work is not limited to implementing projects and providing assistance; rather, it extends to following up on their impact and ensuring their sustainability. We are therefore committed to maintaining a field presence, communicating directly with beneficiaries and partners, listening to the needs of communities, evaluating existing projects and exploring new opportunities that contribute to creating positive and sustainable change in people’s lives.”
He noted that the tour also represents an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and coordination with partner entities and institutions in the target countries, and to develop mechanisms for implementing and following up on projects. This will enhance operational efficiency and ensure that aid reaches those entitled to receive it.
He affirmed that the Organization will continue to expand its presence, inspired by the approach of the United Arab Emirates and its deeply rooted values of giving.
Concluding his statement, the Secretary General affirmed that the Organization’s projects and initiatives are the result of the trust placed in it by donors and supporters, whose generosity is a fundamental pillar of the continuity of its mission. He noted that the Organization remains committed to transforming these contributions into sustainable projects that uphold human dignity and open up better prospects for life.
