Ammar bin Humaid Opens 11th Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival

  His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, today inaugurated the 11th Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman. Organised by the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, the festival is taking place at the Emirates Hospitality Centre from 30 July to 3 August, offering prizes worth AED 1 million.

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi affirmed that the Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival continues to fulfil its mission as a platform that embodies the leadership's vision of investing in the UAE's national heritage and transforming it into a driver of sustainable development. He noted that supporting and empowering farmers and beekeepers contributes to enhancing the quality of local production while reinforcing the agricultural sector's role as a key pillar of food security and the national economy.

His Highness also commended the festival's continuous development, the diversity of its programmes, and its role in bringing together heritage, knowledge, and community experiences, further strengthening Ajman's position as a cultural and tourism destination that celebrates the authenticity of the UAE's heritage.

Upon arriving at the Emirates Hospitality Centre, His Highness was received by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, along with several dignitaries, directors of federal and local government entities, representatives of participating government and private organisations, as well as sponsors, partners, and festival participants.

His Highness toured the festival's main exhibition stands, where he viewed a selection of premium dates, honey, citrus fruits, and locally produced agricultural products. He also attended presentations by exhibitors highlighting the latest practices in date palm cultivation and beekeeping, as well as their efforts to improve the quality of local produce and support the sustainability of the agricultural sector.

Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, said that the Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival has become one of the UAE's leading national events, bringing together the preservation of Emirati heritage, the promotion of innovation within the agricultural sector, and the showcasing of high-quality local products. He noted that the festival reflects Ajman's commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen national identity and sustainable development.

He said: "With every edition of the festival, we strive to provide a platform that brings together farmers, beekeepers, producers, and the wider community, while supporting the exchange of knowledge and expertise, creating new growth opportunities, and reinforcing the festival's position as an annual destination celebrating heritage and national production."

The 2026 edition of the festival brings together a wide range of farmers, beekeepers, and government and private sector entities, alongside an extensive programme of competitions, heritage, activities and family entertainment designed for all members of the community.

The festival was also attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi and Sheikh Humaid bin Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi.

Over five days, the festival offers a comprehensive community experience that combines education, entertainment, and shopping through dates, honey, and fruit competitions showcasing the finest local produce, alongside exhibition and retail stands featuring agricultural, food, and heritage products.

His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, said that the 11th edition is the result of continuous efforts to enhance the festival's content, organisation and partnerships, further increasing its value for participants and visitors while reinforcing its position among the UAE's leading specialised events dedicated to preserving the country's agricultural and cultural heritage and supporting the leadership's vision for environmental and economic sustainability.

He added: "We remain committed to delivering an integrated experience that combines high-quality competitions with cultural, heritage, and educational activities that enrich the visitor experience, broaden community participation, and further enhance the festival's contribution to stimulating tourism and cultural activity across the emirate."

The festival is taking place at the Emirates Hospitality Centre until 3 August, welcoming visitors to enjoy a vibrant heritage-inspired atmosphere that celebrates the finest local products while showcasing the richness of the UAE's agricultural heritage and its enduring role in the nation's identity.
