Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, and pursuant to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, Ajman Chamber will launch the “Thara” Investment and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem next Thursday during the first edition of the Thara Connect Forum.
The Forum will be held at the Thara Centre for Entrepreneurship, with the participation of a distinguished group of investors, venture capital fund leaders, entrepreneurs, representatives of government entities, and companies.
The Forum will feature 30 start-ups selected from among 800 companies that applied from 43 countries. The selected start-ups will showcase their projects, products, and services to investors, customers, and potential partners through a start-up exhibition, alongside another exhibition featuring institutions and companies offering business support services and solutions.
Ajman Chamber is developing the Thara ecosystem to connect entrepreneurs with capital, expertise, services, and markets, while supporting projects from the idea stage through establishment, operation, and growth. This supports the emirate’s investment and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The ecosystem comprises five key components:
Thara Hub for workspaces and the business environment.
Thara X for incubation and acceleration.
Thara Capital for investment.
Thara Experience for shared services and business support solutions.
Thara Foundation for community initiatives.
Together, these components provide integrated services that meet the needs of founders and companies at different stages of development.
The launch ceremony will feature addresses by His Excellency Abdullah Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ajman Chamber, and Her Excellency Maryam Khalifa Al Nuaimi, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Thara Investment and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem. They will discuss the ecosystem’s role in developing the business community, as well as its vision, objectives, and five-year strategic plan through 2031.
The programme will also include a keynote address by Her Excellency Najla Ahmed Al Midfa, Vice Chairperson of the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa) and Vice Chairperson of the UAE Growth Fund, on developing entrepreneurship ecosystems and the role of institutions in empowering promising companies and supporting their growth.
Through its panel discussions, the Forum will discuss the role of government entities in supporting entrepreneurship, the requirements for attracting funding, and start-up valuation criteria, in addition to experiences in establishing and developing businesses and the challenges facing entrepreneurs during the growth and expansion stages.
The Forum will provide direct meetings between investors and entrepreneurs, business meetings, and opportunities to sign agreements and build commercial and investment partnerships. The Thara Connect app, available on iPhone and Android devices, will enable participants to communicate, arrange meetings, and view the event programme.
The Forum will also present the annual Thara Awards for start-ups, including the Investors’ Choice Award, valued at AED 100,000, and the Audience Choice Award, valued at AED 50,000. The awards aim to highlight promising ventures and enhance engagement by investors and the public.
The Forum is organised as part of Ajman Chamber’s efforts to attract innovative ideas and projects, expand channels of engagement between entrepreneurs and investment institutions, and create practical opportunities for funding and collaboration, thereby supporting company formation, business development, and sustainable growth.
