Ajman Transport has launched 18 new vehicles dedicated to serving people of determination with visual and hearing impairments, in cooperation with the concession companies operating under the Authority’s umbrella. The initiative forms part of its efforts to provide accessible and sustainable transport services in accordance with the highest approved standards.
Engineer Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport Corporation at Ajman Transport, affirmed that the launch of the vehicles reflects the Authority’s commitment to providing an inclusive and sustainable transport ecosystem that ensures easy access to services for all members of the community without exception.
He noted that the Authority places the needs of people of determination among its foremost priorities and continuously seeks to develop its services in line with international best practices, thereby enhancing quality of life and reinforcing the principles of inclusion and sustainability in the Emirate of Ajman.
Al Jallaf added that the Authority has introduced a 50% discount on transport fares for beneficiaries of the service, in a step aimed at supporting people of determination and easing the financial burden associated with their daily mobility. The measure will contribute to enhancing their independence and active integration within society.
He explained that the new vehicles have been equipped in accordance with the highest technical and operational requirements for serving people with visual and hearing impairments, ensuring a safe and comfortable transport environment that accommodates their specific needs and aligns with the highest applicable quality and safety standards.
The Authority stated that the service may be accessed through its Booking and Dispatch Centre on 600 599 997, in accordance with the approved channels and procedures.
It affirmed that the launch of these vehicles forms part of its development plans to enhance the quality of transport services and strengthen their inclusivity. This aligns with national policies supporting the empowerment of people of determination and reflects the Authority’s commitment to providing integrated and sustainable transport services that meet the needs of all members of the community.
