Ajman Transport Enhances the Readiness of the School Transport System for the Start of the Academic Year

The Ajman Transport Authority has strengthened the readiness of the school transport system in conjunction with the start of the new academic year, by implementing a range of regulatory, inspection and awareness measures. These include verifying the readiness of school buses and their compliance with approved technical, safety and security requirements, contributing to the provision of safe and reliable school transport services for students.

The Authority’s preparations included conducting inspections of school buses to ensure their technical condition and the efficiency of their safety systems and equipment. It also monitored operators’, drivers’ and supervisors’ compliance with the requirements governing school transport activities, enhancing operational readiness and raising safety standards throughout school journeys.

The Authority has given particular importance to training and qualification through dedicated programmes for school bus drivers and supervisors. These programmes aim to raise awareness of safety and security requirements, enhance the readiness of personnel responsible for transporting students, and support safe operational practices during school journeys.

Engineer Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport and Licensing Foundation at Ajman Transport, stated that the Authority is committed to strengthening the readiness of the school transport system through the integration of bus inspections, the qualification of drivers and supervisors, compliance with regulatory requirements, and field monitoring and follow-up.

He added that student safety remains among the Authority’s foremost priorities, affirming the continuation of inspection and oversight efforts and monitoring compliance with approved requirements and standards, in cooperation with schools and school transport service operators. These efforts support operational efficiency and enhance service quality.
