The Ajman Transport Authority has announced the training and qualification of 2,640 trainees from the operational workforce — comprising taxi vehicle drivers, school bus drivers, and school bus supervisors — during the first half of 2026, as part of its efforts to raise staff competency, enhance readiness levels, and improve the quality of services provided to customers.
The number of trainees from among taxi vehicle drivers reached 970, with 333 training courses delivered for taxi drivers — reflecting the Authority’s commitment to developing drivers’ skills and enhancing their operational readiness.
The indicators also included the training of 767 trainees through awareness courses for school bus drivers, in addition to 903 trainees through school bus supervisor courses — in support of the school transport system and to reinforce safety standards and compliance during service delivery.
Ms Rasha Khalaf Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Support Services Foundation, affirmed that training and development represent one of the key pillars in raising institutional performance efficiency, noting that investment in the qualification of human resources contributes to improving service quality and enhancing staff readiness in accordance with best practices.
She added that the Authority continues to develop its training programmes in a manner that keeps pace with operational requirements and the needs of various services, supporting the readiness of drivers and supervisors and enhancing the customer experience, safety standards, and quality of performance.
